Frequently Asked Questions

Alderman Triplett, my alley light is out. What should I do?

All alley lights are contracted by the City to Ameren UE. Give them a call at 314-342-1000.

There is a car on my street that has been in the same spot for over a month. What can be done to remove this car?

All cars must be registered, licensed and in working condition. If an abandoned car is in the same place on the street for 5 continuous days, the police may order it towed after four unpaid tickets have been issued.

Alderman Triplett, there is a property across the street that is making my family miserable. The property owners are a major nuisance. There is traffic coming in and out all day and suspicious behavior. What can we do?

Any suspected nuisance behavior should be reported to the 6th Ward Neighborhood Stabilization Officer at 314-622-4628, and in turn I will also get the information. To report a nuisance to the police please follow these steps:

1. Dial 911 for an emergency or 231-1212 for a non emergency
2. Say “This is a Nuisance Property” and provide the address of the nuisance property, NOT your personal address.
3. Be prepared to give specifics to the police: WHO, WHAT, WHEN and WHERE
4. Leave a call back number for the police. You have the right to inform them that you do NOT want them to come to your door

The NSO will monitor this case and communicate with you on ways to help solve nuisance behavior in your neighborhood.
